The Mitsubishi MDS-B-V2-3510 is a legacy MELDAS MDS-B Series dual-axis AC servo drive for CNC feed-axis control. Its “3510” code represents a 3.5kW first axis and 1.0kW second axis; it does not mean 35A and 10A.

The two channels provide rated output currents of 16A and 6.8A. The amplifier receives main power from the MDS shared DC link and uses a separate AC auxiliary supply. Match the full MDS-B-V2-3510 nameplate and both axis configurations before replacement.

Dual-Axis Servo Architecture

MDS-B-V2-3510 controls two servo motors from one amplifier. Each channel has separate motor and encoder connections, while the drive links to the MELDAS control through the MDS-B communication chain. Machine-axis assignments depend on the machine builder.

Compatibility and Replacement Checks

Confirm the full model, power-supply unit, motors, encoders, axis order, connectors, software, parameters and machine configuration. Mitsubishi documents MDS-C1-V2-3510 as a later corresponding capacity model, but it is not automatically a plug-and-play replacement. MDS-B-V2-3520, MDS-B-V2-3535 and V24 variants are different units.

Testing and Installation Notes

REACO CNC checks the nameplate, housing, connectors, control boards, capacitors, power stage, fan, DC bus, feedback channels, communication and alarms as applicable. Back up CNC and servo parameters before removal. Qualified personnel should isolate power and allow the DC link to discharge before installation.
