What the B577 Configuration Identifies

In FANUC’s β-series designation, A06B-0033 identifies the β3/3000 motor. The first digit in B577 specifies a tapered shaft without a brake, while “77” specifies the βI32B incremental pulse coder.

The similar A06B-0033-B575 uses βA32B absolute feedback, while A06B-0033-B077 uses a straight shaft with βI32B feedback. These motors should not be interchanged solely because they share the same β3/3000 frame.

βI32B Incremental Feedback

The βI32B is a serial incremental pulse coder with 32,768 divisions per revolution. It is not an absolute encoder and must be matched to a CNC and servo system configured for β-series incremental feedback. Reference-position procedures depend on the original machine configuration.

#7000 and Protection Requirements

The motor is also commonly indexed as A06B-0033-B577#7000. FANUC documentation lists IP65 protection for applicable β-series installations only when the specified connectors and waterproof signal cover are used.
