FANUC A860-2001-T301, also searched as A8602001T301, Alpha A16Mi or A16000i, is an αiA 16000 absolute servo motor Pulsecoder with 16,000,000 position divisions per revolution. It provides position and velocity feedback for compatible FANUC αi servo motors and CNC systems.

This motor-mounted optical encoder uses serial feedback and an Oldham coupling interface. Confirm the exact A860 label and complete A06B motor specification before replacement.

αiA16000 Absolute Feedback

The αiA 16000 is an absolute Pulsecoder, unlike the incremental αiI 1000. With the required battery backup in the CNC or servo amplifier, it retains position information while control power is off. FANUC also documents temporary capacitor backup during supported battery replacement.

Oldham Coupling and IP65 Notes

FANUC's replacement procedure uses an Oldham coupling and O-ring between the motor and Pulsecoder. The coupling is separately identified as A290-0501-V535, so confirm whether it is included. IP65 applies to the correctly assembled compatible motor; the encoder connector is waterproof only when engaged.

Compatibility, Testing and Installation

Do not automatically substitute A860-2000-T301 αiA1000 or A860-2005-T301 αiI1000. Verify the complete motor number, encoder type, connector, coupling, O-ring, mounting and servo software. REACO CNC checks the label, connector, feedback communication and operation on an applicable FANUC setup.
