Four-Slot Basic-Unit Structure

The A02B-0281-B504 provides the control-unit structure and four expansion positions for compatible FANUC 16i hardware. Depending on the machine, supported communication, data-server, loader-control, HSSB, Ethernet or other option boards may be installed.

Not every board can be fitted in every position. FANUC notes that some slots accept only specified boards, and operation depends on the motherboard, CNC software and system configuration.

LCD-Mounted and 16i-MB Clarification

“LCD-mounted type” describes the CNC structure; it does not confirm that the LCD, MDI keyboard or machine operator panel is included. Verify the supplied components from photographs and the packing list.

For a 16i-MB replacement, confirm the M-series software, PCB set, spindle and servo configuration, PMC ladder and machine data. Do not select the unit only from the general 16i-B name.

PCB and Software Requirements

This product may be supplied as a basic unit rather than a complete operational CNC. Confirm the required PCBs, memory modules, software editions and enabled options before ordering.

If supplied without the original boards or system image, the customer must install the correct hardware and reload the FANUC software, PMC ladder, parameters and machine data. A bare A02B-0281-B504 cannot operate as a complete 16i-MB control by itself.

Before removal, back up all accessible SRAM data, CNC programs, parameters, offsets, macro variables, pitch-error compensation, PMC files and machine-builder data. Software loading and commissioning should be completed by a qualified technician.
