Alarm Overview
- PS5523: When the FANUC system displays the alarm “PS5523 WAITING THE OPTION CERTIFICATION", it indicates that the CNC system is currently waiting for option authorization.
-
PS5524: The Alarm "PS5524 CERTIFICATION EXPIRE" indicates that the certification period for the system’s option parameters has expired. Once the alarm changes from “PS5523 WAITING THE OPTION” to “PS5524 CERTIFICATION EXPIRE,” it means the 30-day grace period has ended.
This alarm typically occurs when:
- The OPRM_INF function file inside the FROM memory has been overwritten or deleted (for example, after system all files reinstallation).
Temporary Solution
While the alarm PS5523 is active, press the RESET key to temporarily clear the alarm and restore basic machine operations. Alarm PS5524 cannot be cleared by using the RESET key.
⚠️Note:
- This method only provides temporary relief.
The system will remain in the option authentication pending state, meaning the root cause is not yet resolved. - This operation must be performed within 30 days of the alarm occurrence.
After this period, alarm PS5524 will be triggered, which cannot be cleared by using the RESET key.
Permanent Solution
Option 1: Contact FANUC Service
Before the deadline, contact your local FANUC official office.
Here’s how it works:
1. Provide the following details to FANUC:
- Machine model
- CNC Serial ID number
- Alarm code
2. Receive the authentication file:
FANUC will send you a file named CNCOPSET.TXT. Once the file is imported, the system will display alarm PS5527 (Authentication Success).
Step 1 — Enable Parameter Writing & Set Parameter 20
- Please ensure Parameter 20 = 4 (IO channel = CF card),

- Set parameters to EDITABLE (parameter write enable).
Step 2 — Enter the Parameter Menu
- Press SYSTEM → PARAMETER

Step 3 — Open OPTION INPUT
- Scroll to OPTION INPUT

- Press EXEC to execute

Step 4 — Confirm Successful Option Setting
- After execution, system will display:
OPTION SETTING SUCCEEDED
Step 5 — 5523 Alarm Cleared
- Alarm page will finally show:
SR5527 OPTION SETTING SUCCESS
3. Restart the machine:
After the PS5527 alarm appears, turn off the machine and restart it to complete the authentication and fully clear the alarm.
